Rare Giant Eel Born in Bermuda Found in Birmingham Canal - BT

Back in 2012, Nick Redfern wrote a book entitled Monster Diary, which contained a chapter on the massive eels that allegedly lurked in the waters of the canals of Birmingham, England. Some reports mentioned eels measuring 15 feet or more, which Nick admits is "beyond controversial." But there clearly is something behind what might sound like an urban legend as this recent news story indicates. Unfortunately there is no mention of its length but it did weigh 5 lb 10 oz. Across the pond, a Mermaid Goes on Display at Harvard Museum. It's the famous fake known as the Feejee or Fiji Mermaid which dates back to the 1800s, and was exhibited by P.T. Barnum. Good for Harvard, but it more appropriately belongs at the International Cryptozoology Museum. (PH)
